Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors to emerge from the past. Her powerful and vulnerable performances have earned her a cult name. Linney was born to an unmarried single mother who worked as a nurse. She became interested in the theatre during holidays with her famous father. She studied acting at Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. Within a mere two years following graduation she began her Broadway-based career. The following year she made her debut in film and television. Since then she has been involved in numerous films, television productions and stage shows. In her professional career, she has won several awards, among them two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of the array of awards the theatre is still her primary passion and she has continued to appear both on stage and screen.
